ARC
Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework is a training that focuses on intervening for children and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma and their caregivers. "Attachment" focuses on the relationship of the child and the caregiver and using that to increase the effectiveness of mental health or behavioral health counseling. It focuses on building proper support within the child’s caregiving system and ways to support the child’s caregiving system themselves. "Regulation" is working with children/youth to build an awareness of internal identifying behaviors and understand where they come from. "Competency" is to help children/youth build the skills and tolerance for effectively engaging and sustaining connection with other connect others.
DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps individuals develop skills to manage intense emotions, cope with challenging situations, and improve relationships. It's rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) but also incorporates elements of mindfulness and acceptance. DBT's main goal is to help individuals reduce harmful behaviors, improve emotional regulation, and enhance their quality of life.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve mental and emotional well-being. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and aims to help individuals develop more adaptive coping strategies. CBT is a structured and goal-oriented approach that is often used to treat a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
TF-CBT
TF-CBT stands for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It's a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy designed to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers cope with the emotional and behavioral difficulties that can arise after experiencing trauma, including child maltreatment. TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective in helping individuals overcome trauma-related difficulties.
